Mediocre. This film tries so hard to be more than it is. Yes, James Franco played his role well, but it was a story that had little substance yet expected audiences to be spellbound. That is the worst thing about this film.
It is lackluster and unoriginal, but it cries out to be recognized as something revolutionary and deep.
