This film has a low rating across the board here. I think it's totally brilliant. it reaches so far beyond the realm of traditional narrative, that i'm not suprised it didn't sit well. hell - i'm not sure I even understand it.
taking it literally - I guess I do, what with the changing of central characters throughout - but I think the universality of the sexual dilemmas and the identity struggles go deeper than just that. I think thats why the movie is so sprawling - with a lot of seques and meandering.
but it IS solondz....to take it at surface level would be stupid. which only means in reality, what he is saying is much more tragic and bleak than i'd like to know.
