Review of Palindromes (2005) by Samantha S — 04 Jan 2008
Its hard to put into words why this film was so good. In its daringness and provocation it demanded an audience of open minds, but in the end gave us something we all could relate too. Maybe it seems strange because solondz defies all rules of film making.
Some parts seem like something youd see on a cheesy made for tv film. And some seem parts are so real and so in your face you dont know what to think. They had eight actresses play the same character which was genius on the directions behalf.
You can see the struggle of a young girl through the eyes of each of the characters. The tough choices young people have to make about things that people dont want to talk about and the idea, that maybe we just grow up too fast.
