Review of Pale Rider (1985) by Simon M — 03 Aug 2009
By 1985 The American western was seen as a busted flush with the disaster of Heavens Gate 5 years before.
So in 1985 we got 2 good westerns, Lawrence Kasdans Silverado and this Solid outing from Clint Eastwood.
The story has echos of Shane as a mysterious stranger rides out of the wilderness to support a repressed mining community.
Eastwood the director has his usual unfussy approach to directing which makes his films always a good watch.
Everything here clicks and the viewer is rewarded with another great film from one of the masters of the genre.
