Review of Pale Rider (1985) by Debbie P — 24 May 2009
PALE RIDER (1985) is one of my favorite Clint Eastwood movies. Eastwood not only stars in Pale Rider, but he also produced and directed this film. It features a strong cast that includes Sydney Penny, Michael Moriaty and late Carrie Snodgress and the late Chris Penn.
Eastwood plays a stranger in town only known as "Preacher". There is an on-going conflict between a group of poor, panning miners and the most powerful man in the nearby town who wants their land.
Eastwood defends the miners. Pale Rider in many ways pays tribute to the classic western "Shane".
