Review of Paheli (2005) by Margaret R — 13 Jul 2007
Most Bollywood fans write this off as a uninteresting, campy, and catering to Western tastes. Maybe it's because I'm American from European descent, but I really love this film. The dances and songs hearken back to classic Bollywood style, with lots of color and quality choreography (no stupid hip-hop).
And don't let the mustache dissuade you, because Shahrukh is compelling, both as the neglectful husband and the love-struck ghost.
