Review of Page One: Inside the New York Times (2011) by Dan R — 20 Nov 2011
Very interesting and informative documentary not only about the New York Times but about media itself.
In times where media landscape changes rapidly and more and more notable newspapers shut down it explores some of the reasons why this happens and shows the shift towards Internet journalism and, in the process, the difference between conventional journalism and (semi-) professional Internet bloogers.
It follows some of the editors, writers and reporters escpecially Media columnist David Carr through different stages of the media year (it certainly came handy that WikiLeaks got big during the time of filming so the had a nice plug to use for the film).
You get also some insights in the working habits and restrictions/ethics of the profession.
Not to mention the fantastic score with a really catchy signature song you've maybe already heard in the trailer.
