Review of Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) by James L — 24 Mar 2018
Pacific Rim Uprising is a fun, guilty pleasure of a movie. You're watching this to see giant robots and monsters square off. It requires a willing suspension of disbelief, but we're not asking for much from the plot beyond setting up a reason for the Jaegers to smash something.
The acting was actually decent, by action movie standards, and I actually liked it better than the first movie. The main thing that aggravated me is relatively petty compared to most things, it's the very compressed timeframe that the movie operates in.
Essentially it takes 24 to 48 hours to repair massive damage/destruction of any significant item in the movie - the repetitive 24 hour deadlines were absurd. Petty, but it was still what bothered me.
