Review of Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) by Binh N — 29 Mar 2018
A disappointing film on all fronts. You would be better off buying/renting the original.
This movie appears to be insidiously produced with the sole purpose of selling more action figures. The story is nonsensical, predictable, and underwhelming. The acting is pretty bad aside from John B. Why are child actors mediocre these days?
The attempt at continuity from the previous film is barely there with little to no explanation of what happened to the characters from the previous film. A gratuitous amount of slow motion sequences that aren't really that eye catching. The fight choreography is pretty awful, minus one scene where Clint Eastwood's kid had the common sense to shoot for a takedown.
I wouldn't watch this movie again.
