Review of Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) by Yasmeen Dan S — 28 Apr 2018
We thought this was a blast. The dialogue was fairly realistic, which I appreciated (think more like The Orville vs Star Trek), and the script tackled the issue of continuity head-on, closing any potential holes/questions.
Sure, the first one was a better movie, but this was pretty great in its own right. Why do so many critics find fault? Well, the only thing I can say is that not every great movie is a 4 hour long epic or have transcendingly deep characters- sometimes a great movie is a simple and well told story.
This was 100% on target, and we hope they make a 3rd.
