It's better than the trailer made it out to be, and worth watching if you liked the first one. John Boyega is decent, everyone else is completely forgetable (Cailee Spaeny as Amala was painful to watch, I don't think we'll be seeing her again).

Whoever produced the trailer needs to be fired. Color-coded robots flipping around like power rangers, and crappy music that sounds like it should be blaring out of a cadillac with all 4 windows down on the wrong side of town. The soundtrack is nothing like that, and the mechs actually do have that same sense of ponderous weight as in the first movie. Not enough Kaiju though.
