Review of Pacific Rim (2013) by Fernado R — 11 Aug 2014
I'm pretty sure this movie is based on Futurama's Anthology of Interest #1 (Section 1: Terror at 500 Feet) where Giant Bender fights Giant Zoidberg, but besides that, it is an entertaining mix of Godzilla, Real Steel, and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.
The plot drags in a few places and some of the fight scenes are straight out of the movies listed above. As for the mind melding, well, Futurama did that too (Love and Rocket).
