Review of Pacific Rim (2013) by Maya G — 15 Oct 2018
ALthough the movie suffers from a lack of women in leading roles, it is one of the best I've seen. The colors are vibrant, the monsters are breathtaking, the robots are magnificent, the characters are complex and tangible, and there is symbolism and deeper meaning strewn throughout the film.
The general feel of it is what really makes it; a small group of strong-willed people putting aside differences and fighting off the apocalypse. Every time I watch it I find something I didn't notice before (mostly in terms of foreshadowing, symbolism, or just things that are hard to spot).
