Review of Pacific Rim (2013) by Amanda K — 21 Dec 2014
Definitely one of the most underrated movies of the season, this movie is a treat for the eyes. The amount of detail that goes into this movie's CGI is only matched by DelToro's mastery of emotive lighting and his genius flair for world building and design.
While it could have done with more character-centric moments, the snapshots we do get paint very vibrant pictures of the Shatterdome inhabitants that leave you wanting more. And while it breaks my little Autobot heart, give me DelToro's Pacific Rim over Bay's Transformers any day.
