Review of Pacific Rim (2013) by Bernie M — 22 May 2015
Incredible, cool-looking, giant and stupid. The action/fighting scenes are really awesome. The human scenes, not so much. Elba, Perlman and Day are great additions to the film. The film is really dumb and has plot holes, but kind of embraces them.
It knows it's stupid, and therefore doesn't take itself to seriously, but not to the point where it's a parody of itself. Overall, a dumb, popcorn, turn off your brain action movie that will keep you thoroughly entertained.
Definitely watch it if you need something fun to watch.
