Review of Pacific Rim (2013) by Davia D — 09 Oct 2017
Giant Monsters vs Robots at a level never seen before, and with a lot of subtle worldbuilding effort that pays off. Toss in a strong emotional core in Mako, Idris's Stacker, and Raleigh, who despite being a generic male action lead at a glance, shows a surprising amount of emotional awareness and supports Mako Mori's story through much of his action.
This case, plus the raw awesomeness of the Jaegers vs Kaiju battles, makes Pacific Rim one of my favorite movies.
