Review of Oz the Great and Powerful (2013) by Alan C — 22 May 2014
I like Wizard of Oz. I should like this. Right? Well.. Sort of. Both witches are brilliant. Maybe I'm stupid for not seeing Mila Kunis become the wicked witch but never the less it took me by surprise and she was great.
The film captures the sound-stage feel of the original Oz which... I think is a good thing. Gripes: TOO LONG. And James Franco just felt a little... too James Franco. Miscasting perhaps?
