Review of Oz the Great and Powerful (2013) by Chris S — 18 May 2014
It will never beat the classic original but this special effects laden prequel does well to hold it's own. The special effects are wonderful and the CGI almost making a realistic setting, I was most impressed with the excellent detail on the porcelain girl character.
The cast are spot on and this includes the great voice actors too. Sam Ramis vision is a great spectacle to watch and a great comeback after four years absence. It's downfall however is it's very tedious and the ending very bland, also you know what's meant to happen anyway as it is afterall, a prequel.
Still, it's a brilliant watch.
