Not so much a movie as a study of a slowly self-destructing human being. Phillip Seymore Hoffman is hypnotic as the incarnation of the real-life bank employee who stole 10.2 million dollars and gave every cent of it to his one all-consuming addiction.
Rent it when you're in a quiet mood.
