I was unsure what to expect watching this but Overlord reminds me of a genre blend movie like cowboy's v aliens or from dusk till dawn in that it mixes a body horror 'zombie' like movie with a ww2 saving private ryan ww2 style and setting. It really is better than that sounded and it is a must watch if you enjoy the action thriller genre. The quality of the film making at work here really sets it apart from your run of the mill studio cash grab and it really feels like it was made with great passion from the production team who made this. While it certainly doesnt re-write the book on ww2 or horror movies, it does succeed in being very good at both. A standout moment for me is an excellent 'one shot' action sequence at the end of the picture. I greatly enjoyed watching this.
