Review of Overlord (1975) by Terry V — 09 Jun 2007
Thankfully Criterion has a sister company, Janus, which specializes in bringing foreign films to America. If it didn't, its highly unlikely that this film would have been viewed by a wider audience.
In this film we see the transformation from citizen to soldier. We see the highs and lows, the repetitiveness of soldiering, and in the end, one simple truth. That war is controlled destruction, and it cares not for what it destroys.
