Review of Outpost (2008) by David G — 18 Oct 2008
Mercenaries head into the forest, find secret bunker, shit happens. Cue lots of shooting, shouting and gore. Don't expect to find anything new here but what the film does, it does fairly well. I quite liked the idea of the Nazi super-soldier experiments and how it tied in with the likes of Einstein's theories, Hitler's obsession with the occult and the Philadelphia Experiment which is why I was disappointed that the potential wasn't tapped any more than having supernatural zombies shuffling around the place stabbing people.
And why they decide to shamble slowly along when they apparently have the ability to teleport is anyones guess. So, some good ideas but unfortunately contained within a very average movie.
