Review of Outlander (2008) by James H — 31 Jul 2010

Any film that has spaceships, dragons, and vikings has to be taken with a grain of salt. Too bad the filmmakers didn't really take that to heart. Outlander takes itself far too seriously at times, but it still an entertaining sci-fi/fantasy film, albeit about 15 minutes too long.

Actually, the film's visuals and action set pieces are quite impressive, given the fact that it debuted on DVD. Jim Caviezel, though, still looks as if he's bored with acting, showing little interest in the material.
