Review of Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism (2004) by Justin M — 13 May 2006
Shows how vitriolic and one-sided Fox News coverage is... in a vitriolic and one sided documentary. I mean, anybody who watches Fox News with an open mind realizes it sucks. But this guy assaulted it with such single minded tenacity that I found myself going "Jesus, dude, shut the fuck up.
Fox News sucks. I GET IT. O'Reilley is a jackass. Understood." Loses what steam it had when it transforms from an attack on Fox News to a more unfocused attack on Conservatism in general. I mean, I'm more or less Liberal, but Conservatives have a right to their opinion.
If it's not the same as my opinion, that's fine. Greenwald, on the other hand, seems OUTRAGED that news is reported with a conservative bent. I wonder if a news station reported from a highly Liberal perspective would he make a documentary about it.
I highly, highly doubt it. So I find he's not really attacking the FACT that they're misrepresenting news, but that they're misrepresenting it with a bias that's different from the one he wants them to take.
So I agree with the message, but his presentation is all wrong. Plus it looks like a grade 12 drama assignment. Just a terrible documentary.
