Review of Out to Sea (1997) by Andy O — 08 Sep 2009
When I first saw this movie on holiday in America in 1997 (as a European I'm not likely to see it legally anyways on DVD as it was never released in region 2).
I thought it was really funny, so I wondered why I when I recently watched it thought it was a made for TV movie of so so quality, I remember now I grew up.
The film is nice , its a film that you (as I did) could take with you and watch with your granddad when spending the day with him.
The films premise is that 2 old guys that should know better get on a boat to pull 'girls' well women of a age similar to them but to afford it he has to work on the cruise.
However only one of them knows this and lemons character doesn't realize that to pay for the trip he has signed them up as dance hosts.
Matthau in my opinion was a comic legend and will be greatly missed and is exceptional mostly with wordplay and facial expression , lemon is more engaging with his characters but isn't as funny. However together they are well legendary with a screen partnership spanning decades , this wasn't there best though.
