Review of Out of the Past (1947) by Mitchell C — 28 Sep 2007
In terms of film noir there's the incomparable maltese falcon but in a very close second comes out of the past. Starring Robert Mitchum, who is probably the coolest actor ever, this is a typical film noir setting the action in the past but halfway through the film picks up from the present and people get crossed left and right.
jane greer is infinitely compelling as the femme fatale and kirk douglas is rather menacing as the villain.
