Grim man-flick that would be very average if it wasn't for a stellar cast on form. Bale, Whittikaer, Dafoe, Harrelson and Casey Affleck are all good here. The sense of tone is strong throughout but it's a very simple plot dragged out over 2 hours with no significant distinctions beyond THAT cast.
