My all-time favorite. Streep perfectly portrays Karin Dinesen's transformation. Stirring cinamatography, excellent acting all around and good, if sometimes sentimental, portrayal of the British colonization of Kenya.
When I watch it, I'm always amazed that Sydney Pollack directed it. I dislike much of the rest of his work.
