Review of Out of Africa (1985) by Diana P — 05 Apr 2009
I love Meryl Streep and I did have high hopes for this one, but it just didn't deliver the way that I hoped it would. The pacing is so slow that by the time the two lovers finally find their way to each other, it seems disjointed and oddly timed.
The last 30 minutes are by far the best and the ending heartbreaking and predictable. Still the 80s have a hard time with legitimate epics and this once again brings home that point.
