So basically this movie shows an idealized version of Africa told from the perspective of two rich white people. Redford plays the Wise White Guy who understands what's going on in Africa and also knows the culture and perspective of the locals.
Oh, and is white. Streep plays the well-meaning yet ignorant and patronizing White Person who means well but just doesn't understand the culture. There's basically no much going on here besides sweeping landscape shots and watching Meryl Streep act well and Robert Redford be likeable.
