Review of Our Kind of Traitor (2016) by Gareth W — 19 May 2016
Let's give it the full five stars. How I would imagine the real James Bond to operate. Very much Tinker Tailor updated from the frayed edges of the 70s Cold War. We arrive fresh to the red hot moral ambiguity of booming London.
We bear witness to the morally and fiscally weakened UK State, corrupt politicians and enfeebled spooks unable to keep pace with the kleptocracy of global finance and crime as viewed through the prism of the Russian Mafia.
Precisely observed through the eyes of a tightly yet sympathetically drawn cast of characters. Top marks, a must see.
