Review of OSS 117: Lost in Rio (2009) by Jeffrey P — 08 Jan 2012
The follow-up to director Hazanavicius' 2006 spy spoof finds Agent 117 (Jean Dujardin) teaming up with Lieutenant Dolores (Louise Monot) in Rio to uncover a team of Nazis. While technically more adept than its predecessor (the Hitchcockian finale is certainly striking), the humor focused more bluntly on the Bond series' racism, bringing a nastier taste to the script.
Still, there's some good far-reaching gags - one involving a paddle-boat - just fewer for me this time around.
