Review of Osama (2004) by Zeina A — 30 Jun 2007
One of this years most critically acclaimed art's film "Osama", lives up to every expectation the audience may have for the film. One of the first art films in a long time, that can captivate all general audiences, "Osama" tells the story of a young girl, who must hide her identity as a women, and become a man in order to protect, and work for her family, during the years of the Talaban in Afghanistan.
A deeply moving piece, "Osama" persents to its viewers the true unjustice the world presents to both men, and women alike. With creative images, "Osama" based on a true story, is a must see for all audience.
Most of the film, which is all in arabic (subtitled in english and french), had the power to move it's audiences so deeply, tears can not help but be shed, as the film turns it's light on the true likeness of the world.
"Osama", being presented at such a contraversal time, with the threat of Osama Bin Ladden, the Iraq terrorist, promises to put ones life in perspective, through the eyes of another.
