Review of Orphan (2009) by Prolific — 25 Apr 2021
Near the end of the film, Esther is revealed to have Hypopituitarism. This is a real disorder that is (as the film states) is "rare". However, there is treatment available such as growth hormone injections for children to grow at a normal rate.
However, the film leaves out that people with this condition are required to take cortisone medications otherwise they could die. Esther would need to be taking pills daily or the injections weekly.
