Review of Orphan (2009) by Mya E — 29 Oct 2011
Wow! This film truly exceeded my expectations from start to end. The horror-thriller-mystery-suspense is such brilliant that I could never let it go or even yet to hate it so much. I expected some great chills, great story, great plot twist, great performances, great setup, all in all it's a jackpot at filmmaking! The family story in here is as well good and we could think of something why most of these characters are who they are before and after that evil person Ester came to them. I also want to say that even most of the time it feels a cliched one, to me, it is but not much, just be prepared for the exciting clock stopper last 30 minutes of the film and you'll see what I mean. I heard also that the film *Omen* inspired this movie, and I guess, it makes sense, it's either the kid is truly a demon or just a shadow demon, AOWW!
Since it's Halloween tomorrow, this is I think a good movie for you to see it, just to scare and entertained the hell out of you. And if it's not Halloween, then you are not wrong picking to watch this one. I'm so disappointed that I just watched this movie for the first time ever since 2009, I don't want to rent this one that time, but hey, I'm glad to have a 2nd viewing again for sure! This is one of the best horror films of the last decade, if not, then the most lavishing and magnificent movie with a very notorious evil and hateful character in a very long time ever since Stanley Kubrick's film *The Shining*, one of my favorite movies of all time, with Jack Nicholson as that paranoid character. Just see it really, you might forget to trick or treating now because of watching this movie.
