Review of Orlando (2007) by Jason R — 03 Aug 2008
Playful, charming, intelligent, and gorgeous, this is a fantastic film from the opening frames until the wonderfully enigmatic and yet exuberantly happy conclusion. Swinton was born to be photographed in extreme closeups, and Potter structures the entire film around Swinton's wondrous bone structure.
The use of music is also exquisite. This film must have exerted a considerable influence on both Campion and Sofia Coppola.
