Review of Orlando (2007) by Sam B — 07 Jan 2012
A film so strange, yet so full of ideas that make complete sense to me, and dream-like that it exudes a breath of fresh air not delivered in films today. It manages to feel epic, despite a short 93-minute length, both grand and personal.
Tilda Swinton stares directly at whoever is watching her, and I felt chills as her eyes met mine, truly shooting past the camera and out of the TV, into my very existence and possibly beyond. Orlando's journey is an odyssey, enchanting.
More than a movie. 5/5 stars!
