Review of Origin: Spirits of the Past (2006) by Lillian M — 12 Jan 2009
Another anime brought to the U.S. that has environmentalism as its theme. Surprise surprise. The animation was vivid and the greenery very pretty, but the CG was a bit painfully obvious. As with any movie, more depth would have been appreciated, but the story held together more or less.
The ending was kind of "Okay, sure, whatever," but that's the same reaction I had to Mononoke-hime, so I guess that's just my take on environmentalism anime.
