Review of Origin: Spirits of the Past (2006) by David C — 13 Apr 2010
As beautiful as it is confusing, Origin combines 2D and 3D animation in such a natural way, it's almost easy to forgive the often convoluted philosophical story that doesn't really pick up till the last act.
The grandeur of the theatrical budget really shines here... some of the designs of the recovering "world in ruins" are unbelievable, and the score is subtle, but really captivating in parts.
Turns out facebook ads work, I never would have seen this otherwise.
