Review of Ordinary People (1980) by Bryan T — 09 Jul 2009
Mary Tyler Moore gets swept under the rug a lot for this movie simply because her character is so despicable, but I think her performance is just as good as Timothy Hutton's. For all its technical flaws, this movie ends up being greater than the sum of its parts.
You don't realize how greatly it's affected you until it's over. Sidenote: Good Will Hunting and American Beauty both stole a criminal amount from this movie.
