Review of Ordinary People (1980) by Isabelle W — 19 Dec 2009
Fantastic movie. Exceptional acting, and a story that is real and unexagerrrated in the way it is portrayed. It tells of how a family members death can tear a family apart. Macabre-like in a sense, and may not appeal to people who lean towards comedies.
Near the conclusion, where Donald Sutherland is weeping at his dining room table (telling his wife that he doesn't know if he loves her anymore), is one of the best acting scenes I have ever seen.
That scene presents about as real a dialogue as you will ever find.
