Review of Ordinary People (1980) by Sohrab H — 22 Feb 2010
Really enjoyed it. I dont know if you can compare this movie to "American Beauty" but if you can I think it is LEAPS AND BOUNDS BETTER! really great characters played by an amazing cast. Judd Hirsch and Donald Sutherland are fantastic and Timothy Hutton! wow! didnt realize that he was and still is the youngest actor to receive the Best Supporting Oscar at the age of 20! well deserved indeed.
The only sad thing to take away from this film is to know that 24 years down the road that Redford who did a kickass job as a director here would do a craptastic job directing "Lions for Lambs". now that movie was such a waste. but that is not the case with this classic here.
