Not as deep as it thinks it is, but that doesn't necessarily make it shallow. The therapy angle is just a little too neat here, the big revelations by talking with a professional seem like surprisingly easy answers, particularly when Sutherland gets in on it.
Kudos to America's sweetheart MTM for taking a role without any particular redemption moment, though.
