It was okay, but Best Picture? (It won over both Raging Bull and Coal Miner's Daughter--two far superior films, in my opinion.) Great performances all around, but the script never quite got me to really care about the characters.
The only reason I can fathom this winning Best Picture is that America was floored that Mary Tyler Moore could play such a bitch.
