Review of Ordinary People (1980) by Lord N — 04 May 2010
I think that it is quite cool that this film was directed by Robert Redford. That guy has done some really good stuff over the years. and this is defenitly a great crack at directing. The plot is really good and the Screenplay is amazing.
the acting is by far the best part about this whole movie to be sure. I really enjoyed watching this. the film is not perfect and to be honest (as I'm sure you all know) no film is. It was a sad little story that I really liked.
I enjoyed every minute of it. I never really knew where the plot was going to take me. there were moments in the movie where I was like "whoa didn't see that coming". Overall it was a really good movie.
I enjoyed myself immensely while watching it. Final Verdict: Mistake. yes one or two of you might be shocked by this but there is one movie that absolutely blows past this one, Raging Bull. Raging Bull was a far better film.
I liked Ordinary People but it wasn't better Raging Bull in terms of Best Picture. I would have to say that it is De Niro's performance that really puts that movie over the top for me. so, Replacement winner: Raging Bull.
