Review of Ordet (1955) by Ian F — 20 Apr 2010
I loved this because all the parts came together in a brilliant way and the final scene blew my mind! So unexpected and frankly unbelievable, I loved it! The acting was great, they really were great- yeah this is really obvious but simply put, they were perfect! The set was great- reminded me of a play but I really liked that it reminded me of a play.
The story was the real pincher- so good, so creative, so smart, based on a play (which explains lots) its brilliant and very well written. It's hard to describe this eloquently, but it was just really well done and good quality film making! Great film that could be a great play as well! And the father reminded me of "Fiddler on the Roof"! Actually, the whole thing reminded me of "Fiddler on the Roof"!
