Cast. Colin Hanks, Jack Black, Schuyler FiskThere is no denying there is something appealing about this film. The actors are good, the writing is sort of clever, there are some pretty good jokes but for some reason it doesnt rise as much as it should. Maybe its just too nice and not raunchy enough like other teen comedies, though this one has a brain and while Im thinking about it, it may not have enough heart.The highlight of this film are probably the two young actors. Leading man, Colin Hanks who looks absolutely like his father, and makes me wonder how come he hasnt become a bigger star yet. As his girlfriend we have Schuyler Fisk, Sissy Spacek's daughter, she isnt extremely talented but she is cute in a non-Hollywood way - which is good - and definately has a lot of charisma. The film was directed by Jake Kasdan, Lawrence Kasdan's son. You know, the dude who wrote the first Indianas Jones films, and was a very reliable writer in the 80's ? Hollywood stars gathered and let their kids make a film for once.ORange County was written by Mike White, he is responsible for plenty of strange but heartfelt comedies and his touch can easily be found in this one. Its probably inspiring for people who can relate to the main character. Its not really flawed, doesnt aim high and reaches its ambitions, but its nothing special, just a nice little movie. I think I liked it.
