Review of Orange County (2002) by Joyce B — 30 Jan 2012
It's stupid, dumb and crazy comedy that, as people have said, isn't entirely memorable, but does it need to be? The lack of complete gross-out gags that are top-bill in other "teen comedies" mean that "Orange County" focuses more on the actual relationships between the characters, the absurd notion of the plot and the pretty uncertain outcome all the more, whilst knowing jokes provide more than suitable entertainment for anyone.
Jack Black is as surreal and funny as ever, but it's the young Colin Hanks who steals the show with his comedic timing and line delivery being excellent. It's a pretty big laugh that may not go on forever, but you'll enjoy it while it lasts.
