Review of Operation Filmmaker (2008) by John F — 28 Sep 2007
So far the best documentary of the year. Nina Davenport's first person style is perfect to capture what happens when a subject gets too close to the documentarian - a story that almost feels like a wacky Christopher Guest movie (especially when The Rock shows up).
Davenport has made an important film that says a great deal about the Iraq war, guilty liberals, celebrities, and cunning film students - all in its short running time. This one is a must see.
