Review of Operation Filmmaker (2008) by Andrew T — 17 Sep 2008
Looks at the many sides of a slacker (a subject I personally connect with). There were some moments I could really identify with him, and a [very] few more I even agreed with some of his criticisms of what you have to do to be successful.
It's a very up and down (well, more like down and up and down) story for him, with a somewhat abrupt and open ending. On top of this personal element is the occasional look at the political context, especially emphasizing the parallels between the two elements.
This second part wasn't especially deep, but it was brought in appropriately sparingly which gave it a bit more emotional weight. Overall, more serious than comical, but not entirely depressing.
